Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Quick Barcode Scanner ("the App") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not collect personally identifiable data. No account or registration is required. All scanned barcodes are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to external servers.

2. Usage Data

The App uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., number of sessions, features used). This data does not contain personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the App's performance and user experience.

3. Advertising

The App displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain data to serve personalised ads, subject to your consent (requested on first launch via the standard Google UMP consent dialog). You can review or change your advertising preferences at any time through the "Privacy Options" link available in the Settings screen of the App.

For more information on how Google uses your data, please visit:
https://policies.google.com/privacy

4. App Tracking Transparency (iOS 14+)

On iOS 14 and later, the App requests your permission to track your activity across other apps and websites, as required by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You may deny this permission and the App will continue to function normally, displaying non-personalised ads.

5. Camera Access

The App requests access to your device camera solely for the purpose of scanning barcodes and QR codes. Camera data is processed entirely on-device and is never stored, transmitted, or shared.

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties, except for the service providers mentioned above (Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics), which operate under their own privacy policies.

7. Data Retention

We do not retain any personal data on our servers. All scanned barcodes and settings remain on your device. You can clear all scanned data at any time from within the App.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
